I’d like to thank Darren at Problogger for posting my article on How to Herd Organic Search Traffic to Your Blog.

The feedback at Problogger was overwhelmingly positive and I’m glad I could share a few of my SEO tips with personal finance bloggers and bloggers alike.

I hope you were able to find something useful, that will help your blog grow exponentially.

On a personal note, I found Darren to be very accessible and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for giving the article the exposure it wouldn’t have had anywhere else!

Using the right ‘SEO Editor’ plug in

After reading all of the feedback, a lot of the questions focus on section #6 where I talked about the right ‘SEO Editor’ plug in. Before I go and add some additional information, I’d like to introduce Harris Beringer.

Harris works with me a couple days a week and has been a big help behind the scenes, when it comes to all things WordPress. He’s with me here today, as I write this, and I’ve asked him to read much of the feedback from the Problogger post and see if we can add a bit more to the conversation on meta keyword plugins.

(Keep in mind there are plenty of people that think optimizing towards Meta keywords is a waste of time, but until I hear that from Google I will continue to do so. If you believe optimizing towards meta keywords is worthless, then using the All In One SEO Editor presents no problems).

What I’m going to do is take 2 of the comments I received verbatim, and add my remarks below each:

I’ve been studying SEO for some time now, and your article taught me a lot. FYI, I use Wordpress tags and All in one SEO, so I tried the SEO plugin you recommended, but couldn’t get it to work. I inserted the code into my header file as instructed, but it kept crashing my site.

First things first, the SEO Meta Editor Advanced can be found and downloaded here, except the installation instructions don’t seem to work, as many of you have pointed out.

So after you’ve downloaded the Meta Editor Advanced, if you’re interested in receiving the code I use to install the plugin, email me here and I’ll cut and paste it and send it to you.

Not to quibble about plugins, but I’m just saying those who already have All In One SEO don’t need to dump it–maybe just upgrade it.

As far as I can tell, the latest version of A-I-O SEO still turns all the post tags into meta keywords. We looked at many of the suggested changes people commented on, but came to the same conclusions that I wrote about in the original post.
