rss feed iconI just wanted to write a short post here on what an RSS feed is and how to setup your feed reader.

Many of my friends in their 30’s and older still have no idea what an RSS feed is. For that reason, I used to have a section on my blog homepage called ‘What is RSS?’ When you clicked on it, it would take you right to this page. Unfortunately, that section hit the cutting room floor.

So I figured I’d just turn it into an individual post that visitors can refer to.

Blog Review: Get Rich Slowly

get rich slowlyGet Rich Slowly is another one of the big boys of personal finance blogging. The site first came online in April 2006 and already has over 34,000 RSS feed readers, as of this writing, wow. I’m sure if you check back in a month this number will be a lot higher.

First, I’d like to congratulate J.D. from (GRS) Get Rich Slowly who announced yesterday his plans to become a full time blogger. He details the reasons for quitting the day job in his most recent post. His articles are already excellent, I can only wonder what more time on his hands is going to do.

I know this is a leap of faith for him, but I’m fairly certain it’s going to work. He talks about finding the guts to pursue his dreams, which is a common theme you often here among people that achieve success. These are words I love to hear.

Blogging is Beautiful- Part II

breaking throughBack at the end of August I penned a column called Blogging is beautiful. I just went back and read it and had a chuckle at some of the things that I wrote back then.

A few things have changed significantly since then, and a few things remain the same.

For instance, after spending most of September away from the blog (mainly out of frustration), I was able to make a fair amount of headway in resolving many of the technical issues I faced.

Partly because I was able to teach myself a few things, but mostly because I hired an intern off of Craigslist that was more or less a Godsent. (second time I can remember using the word ‘Godsent’ in a post this month, hmm… interesting)
